Out of the five pieces that the Blackhawks received in Thursday afternoon’s trade with Arizona, power forward RW MacKenzie Entwhistle is the only real asset the ‘Hawks acquired.
While he isn’t a top-ranked prospect, Entwistle was expected to be a late-first-round/ early-second-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. However, he contracted mono, according to Tom Hunter, in the middle of the season, affecting his draft status. He ended up being drafted at 69th overall by the Coyotes.
Entwistle will play at the Blackhawks’ prospect camp that starts on Monday, being one of 42 players to take part in this camp.
Entwistle has played three seasons in the OHL with the Hamilton Bulldogs. He tallied 13 goals and 25 assists in 49 regular season games last season. In the playoffs, he scored ten goals and seven assists in 21 games. The Bulldogs won the OHL championship in the 2017-18 season.
MacKenzie Entwistle stands at 6’3″ and weighs 175 pounds.
