Serena Williams Wins Semi-Final, Advances to Wimbledon Final on Saturday

Serena Williams defeated German Julia Gorges win straight sets on Thursday.

Williams won 6-2 and 6-4 in her 35th career major semi-final match.  This was only the 13th-seeded Gorges’ first semi-final in a major.

This run is extremely amazing considering the health scare Serena faced after she gave birth to a baby girl last September.

Williams will face German Angelique Kerber on Saturday for the championship.  If Serena can pull it off, it would be her 24th Grand Slam title, which would tie Margaret Court of Australia for the most Grand Slam titles by a tennis player.
