NBA Headlines 12/9

Before the weekend comes, here are some updates and headlines around the league.


-Russell Westbrook will be going for his 7th straight triple-double against the Rockets tonight. The game will be on ESPN at 8:00PM ET.

-Derrick Rose will miss tonight’s game against the Kings. This will be his second missed game but considering MRIs revealed no structural damage, the team is probably just being cautious.

-Rudy Gobert came into the season having had two 20 point, 10 rebound games. In his last two games he has had two of such games, going for 22 points and 11 rebounds against the Suns on Tuesday and followed with a 20 point, 17 rebound game in a loss to the Warriors.

-The Rockets have officially signed Donatas Montiejunas to a 4-year $37 million deal.

-For the second time in the last few weeks, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was not happy with his team’s effort. He was quotes saying, that his team needs to do a better job of coming ready to play.

-Isaiah Thomas will miss tonight’s game against the Raptors with a groin injury. He recently had a plasma injection for the injury for the strain and will be missing his second straight game.

-Last night, the Grizzlies became the first team to win 5 games in a row, all by 5 points or less, since the Pelicans did it in the 09-10 season.
